It is a pity that I have to announce the end of this “Diary of Blue poppy Cultivation” that had been started as one of this fiscal year’s topics. I purchased seeds of Blue Poppy this May, sowed them, and started to cultivate. Several seeds seemed to be sprouted successfully. However, it was only WEEDS that had burgeoned in a gardening planter (Pict. 1). I visited a place where we can observe an authentic Blue Poppy in Horonobe town the other day. I think some travelers may visit the “Reindeer dude ranch”. Although all of the Blue Poppy were not in full bloome, some Blue Poppy had flower (Pict. 2). Among them, even smaller Blue Poppy had a beautiful pale violet flower. When I closer looked at the surface of leaves, there are small hair-like structures. It was very difficult for me because it was the first time for my life to cultivate Blue Poppy. In hindsight, I should have paid more attention to the control of temperature. I hope I will be able to try again next year.
